IMGW has issued first-degree warnings for thunderstorms in 15 provinces. During lightning, winds can accelerate to 70 kilometers per hour. Check where the weather will be dangerous.
Institute of Meteorology and Water Management (IMWM) issued first-degree meteorological warnings on a three-point, ascending scale.
IMWM first degree warnings – storms
First degree warnings ahead storms valid in the following voivodeships:
- West Pomeranianwhere the alarms will be valid from 2 a.m. to 9 a.m. on Thursday, and in the north-east of the region from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. on the same day;
- Pomeranian (outside the Nowy Dwór and Sopot), where it will be dangerous from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Thursday;
- Warmia-Masuriain the western half of the region, where warnings will be valid from 1 p.m. on Thursday to 2 a.m. on Friday;
- lubuskiewhere the alarms will be in force from 2 to 9 a.m. on Thursday, only in the south of the region they will be valid from 11 p.m. on Thursday to 7 a.m. on Friday;
- Greater Polandwhere it will be dangerous from 2 to 9 am on Thursday;
- Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeshipwhere the warnings will be valid from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Thursday;
- Lodzwhere dangerous weather will persist from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Thursday;
- Lower Silesian (except for the following counties: Zgorzelec, Lubań, Lwówek, Złotoryja, Karkonosze, Jelenia GoraKamienna Góra), where the alarms will be valid from 2 to 9 a.m. on Thursday;
- Opolewhere alarms will be in effect from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Thursday;
- Silesianwhere it will be dangerous from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Thursday;
- Lesser Polandwhere warnings will be valid from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Thursday, only in the south and east the alarms will be in force from 2 p.m. on Thursday to 4 a.m. on Friday;
- Subcarpathianwhere it will be dangerous from 2 p.m. on Thursday to 4 a.m. on Friday;
- Lublinin the western counties, where alarms will be valid from 1 p.m. on Thursday to 2 a.m. on Friday;
- Masovian (outside Łosice district), where warnings will be valid from 1 p.m. on Thursday to 2 a.m. on Friday;
- Świętokrzyskie., where the dangerous weather will persist from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Thursday.
Thunderstorms are forecast, which in places will be accompanied by heavy rainfall from 20 to 30 liters of water per square meter and wind gusts accelerating to 70 kilometers per hour. Locally, hail will appear.
What is the first-degree IMWM meteorological warning?
First-degree warning predicts conditions conducive to the occurrence of dangerous meteorological phenomena that may cause material losses and threaten health and life. Conducting business in conditions of exposure to these factors is difficult and dangerous. Expect difficulties resulting from conducting activities in the area of the threat, including delays caused by traffic disruptions, disruptions in the course of outdoor events or the possibility of their cancellation. Caution is recommended, the need to follow messages and the development of the weather situation.
