IMGW has issued weather warnings. The night will bring us heavy rain in many places, and in some places even 70 liters of water per square meter may fall. Check where it will be dangerous.

Forecasters from the Institute of Meteorology and Water Management (IMWM) issued first and second degree meteorological warnings on a three-point, ascending scale.

IMWM warnings of the second degree – heavy rain with thunderstorms

Second degree warnings for heavy rain from storms concern the following voivodeships:

  • lubuskieWschowa district;
  • Greater Polandcounties: Grodzisk, Wolsztyn, Leszno, LesznoKoÅ›cian;
  • Lower Silesiacounties: Góra, Wołów, Lubin, GÅ‚ogów, Polkowice, Legnica, LegnicaJawor, ZÅ‚otoryja, Lwówek, Karkonosze, Jelenia GoraKamienna Góra.

Moderate rainfall is forecast, with periods of heavy rainfall. The amount of rainfall in places will be up to 70 liters per square meter. The rainfall will be accompanied by storms with wind gusts of up to 65 kilometers per hour. Locally, small hail is possible.

The warnings will be valid until 1 a.m. Saturday.

First degree IMWM warnings – heavy rain with thunderstorms

Lower-level warnings for heavy rain during storms have been issued for the following provinces:

  • Lower Silesiain the eastern counties, where alarms will be valid until 4 a.m. on Saturday;
  • Greater Polandfor the southern counties, where warnings will be in force until 4 a.m. on Saturday;
  • Lodzfor southern counties, where alarms are valid until 9 a.m. on Saturday;
  • Opolewhere the warnings will be valid until 4 a.m. Saturday;
  • Silesianexcept for the counties in the south, where it will be dangerous until 9 a.m. on Saturday;
  • Lesser Polandin the northern counties, where warnings will be valid until 2 p.m. on Saturday;
  • ÅšwiÄ™tokrzyskiewhere the alarms will be in force until 2 p.m. on Saturday;
  • Masovianin counties located in the southernmost part, where alarms will be valid until 2 p.m. on Saturday;
  • Subcarpathianexcept for the southern counties, where warnings will be in force from midnight to 5 p.m. on Saturday;
  • Lublinin the southern counties, where the alarms will be valid from midnight to 5 p.m. on Saturday.

In these places, up to 55 l/m2 of rain is expected to fall, and the wind during storms will also accelerate to gusts of up to 65 km/h. Small hail may fall.

Second degree warning predicts the occurrence of dangerous meteorological phenomena causing large material losses and a threat to health and life.
