IMWM issued first degree alerts for heavy rain with thunderstorms. Forecasters predict that in places up to 45 liters of water will fall per square meter. Lightning may be accompanied by hail. Check where the weather will be dangerous.

Forecasters from the Institute of Meteorology and Water Management issued first-degree meteorological warnings.

IMWM alerts – heavy rain with thunderstorms

Heavy rain alerts with storms issued in voivodeships:

Silesianin the following counties: Żywiec, Cieszyn, Bielsko, Bielsko-Biala;

Lesser Polandin the following counties: Tatra, Nowy Targ, Limanowa, Nowy Sącz, Nowy SączGorlice, Sucha, Myślenice;

Podkarpackiein the following counties: Jasło, Krosno, loomSanok, Brzozowski, Lesko, Bieszczady.

Moderate and sometimes heavy rainfall is forecast. In places, 25 to 45 liters of water will fall per square meter. The rainfall will be accompanied by storms with wind gusts reaching speeds of up to 65 kilometers per hour. Hail is possible.

The alerts will be valid until 2:30 p.m. on Thursday.

What is the IMWM first degree meteorological warning?

The first level warning provides for conditions conducive to the occurrence of dangerous meteorological phenomena that may cause material losses and pose a threat to health and life. Conducting business in conditions of exposure to these factors is difficult and dangerous. Expect difficulties resulting from carrying out activities in the hazardous area, including delays caused by traffic disruptions, disruptions to outdoor events or the possibility of their cancellation. Caution is recommended, the need to follow messages and developments in the weather situation.
