Negative temperatures combined with precipitation will mean that wet road surfaces and sidewalks may freeze in many regions of the country on Thursday evening and on the night from Thursday to Friday. The Institute of Meteorology and Water Management announced icing alerts in 12 voivodeships.

Ice warnings are in force in the following voivodeships:
- Lower Silesia;
- Lubuskiein the following counties: Wschowski, Nowa Sól, Żagań;
- Greater Polandin southern counties;
- Opole province;
- Łódźoutside the following counties: Łęczyca, Kutno, Łowicz;
- Lesser Poland;
- Masovian Voivodeshipexcept for the north-eastern part of the voivodeship;
- Podlasiein the following counties: Białystok, BiałystokZambrów, Wysokie Mazowieckie, Bielsko, Hajnówka, Siemiatycze;
- Lublin Province;
It is forecast that the wet surface of roads and sidewalks will freeze after rainfall, sleet and wet snow, causing them to become icy. The air temperature will range from -7 to -2 degrees Celsius, and the ground temperature will range from -9 to -3 degrees Celsius. The negative temperature will remain until Saturday. Freezing rain causing black ice is also possible locally.
In Lower Silesia, the Lubuskie Province and Greater Poland, alerts will be valid until 10 p.m. on Thursday. In the Opole region and most of the Łódź region, they will expire at midnight, in Podlasie, Mazovia, the Świętokrzyskie region, and the eastern part of the province. Łódź and Upper Silesia will be valid until 2 on Friday, while in Małopolska in most of the Lublin region they will remain in force until 4 on Friday. In the Podkarpacie region and in the southern part of the province. Lublin will come into force at 22 on Thursday and will expire at 6 on Friday.
