IMWM alerts – icing and freezing rainfall. Winter dangers in most of the country

IMWM warns – dangerous weather conditions will occur in a large part of Poland. Icing and freezing precipitation should be expected. Find out where the aura will be a threat.

As reported on Monday after 6 o’clock on Monday by tvnmeteo.pl synoptic, Artur Chrzanowski, there is still fog in part of the country. Visibility is limited to:

– 200 m in Kozienice and Kielce;

– 500 m in Częstochowa and Elbląg;

– 600 m in Sandomierz and Sulejów;

– 700 m in Katowice and Kraków (in the second city, snow is falling additionally);

– 900 m in Bielsko-Biała.

Synoptics of the Institute of Meteorology and Water Management issued first-degree warnings against other dangerous phenomena.

IMWM alerts: icing

1st degree icing warnings were issued for provinces: West Pomeranian Voivodeship, Lubuskie, Greater Poland, Łódź, Lower Silesia (with the exception of poviats in Podgórze), Opole, Silesian and parts of the province Lesser Poland (poviats: Olkusz, Kraków, Kraków, Chrzanów, Oświęcim, Wadowicki and Suski).

It is forecasted that wet roads and pavements will freeze after rain, snow and wet snow, causing icing. The minimum temperature will be from -3 to 0 degrees Celsius, the minimum temperature at the ground and from -5 to -1 degrees C.

Alerts in most regions will be valid until 9 am on Monday, only in Lower Silesia and the Opole region they will expire an hour earlier.

IMGW alerts: freezing precipitation

In some parts of the country, there are also warnings against freezing rainfall. First degree alerts were issued for the voivodeship Warmia-Masuria Province and Podlasie (in northern poviats).

In some places, weak rainfall and freezing drizzle, causing black ice are forecasted.

The warnings will be valid until 7.30 on Monday.
