IMWM alerts. Snow, icing, frost. Warnings almost everywhere in Poland

Alerts from the Institute of Meteorology and Water Management apply to almost all of Poland. Frosts are forecast in most of the country. In several voivodeships, road and sidewalk surfaces may freeze, and in some parts of the country it may snow.

Forecasters from the Institute of Meteorology and Water Management (IMGW) issued meteorological warnings.

First-degree snowfall warnings apply in the following voivodeships:

Snowfall is forecast in these areas, causing the snow cover to increase by 5 to 10 centimeters in places. In Lower Silesia, alerts will expire at midnight, while in the province Silesia and Lesser Poland will expire at 9 on Sunday.

The roads will be slippery in many places. The lowest level of icing warnings apply in the following voivodeships:

It is forecast that the wet surface of roads and sidewalks will freeze after rain and wet snow, causing them to become icy. The minimum temperature will be approximately -2 degrees Celsius, and the minimum temperature at the ground will be approximately -4 degrees Celsius.

The warnings will be valid until 8 on Sunday.

IMWM also warns against frost. First level warnings apply in the following voivodeships: West Pomeranian Voivodeship, Pomeranian, Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship, Podlasie (in the following counties: Sejny, Suwałki, Suwałki, Grajewo, Kolno, Łomża, Łomża), Masovian Voivodeship (in the following counties: Przysucha, Żyrardów, Sochaczewski, Gostynin, Płock, Płock, Płońsk, Nowy Dwór, Pułtusk, Maków, Ostrołęka, Ostrołęka, Przasnyski, Mława, Ciechanowski, Żuromin, Sierpc), Świętokrzyskie (in the following counties: Kazimierz, Pińczów, Kielce, Kielce, Jędrzejów, Włoszczowa, Końskie), Podkarpackie (in the following counties: Sanok, Lesko, Bieszczady), Lesser Poland (in the entire voivodeship except for the counties of Bochnia, Brzeg, Tarnów, Tarnów, Dąbrowa, Gorlice and Nowy Sącz), Silesian, Łódź, Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeship, Greater Poland, Opole province, Lower Silesia, Lubuskie.

The air temperature is expected to drop to approximately -2 degrees Celsius, and the ground temperature to -4 degrees Celsius.

Alerts will expire at 8 on Tuesday.

The first level warning provides for conditions conducive to the occurrence of dangerous meteorological phenomena that may cause material losses and pose a threat to health and life. Conducting business in conditions of exposure to these factors is difficult and dangerous. Expect difficulties resulting from carrying out activities in the hazardous area, including delays caused by road traffic, disruptions to outdoor events or the possibility of their cancellation. Caution is recommended, the need to follow messages and developments in the weather situation.
