IMWM issued meteorological alerts. There is a yellow warning against snowmelt in southern Poland. According to forecasters, the next few days may bring the return of storms and strong winds.

Forecasters from the Institute of Meteorology and Water Management issued first-degree warnings and a threat forecast for the following days.

First degree IMWM alerts – snowmelt

For the district Tatra Mountains First degree warnings against snowmelt were issued in the Lesser Poland Voivodeship.

According to IMWM, the air temperature is forecast to increase, causing thaw and melting of the snow cover high in the mountains.

The warnings will be valid from 7 a.m. on Sunday until 10 a.m. on Wednesday. Its validity may be extended.

Threat forecast for Wednesday

On Wednesday, additional storm alerts may appear in the following voivodeships: Lubuskie, Greater Poland, Opole province and Lower Silesia.

Moreover, strong winds may blow in the north of the country. Warnings about this weather threat may apply in the northern counties of the voivodeship Pomeranian.

There may also be snowmelt alerts in the district on that day Tatra Mountains.
