IMWM issued first and second degree alerts. Forecasters warn of strong winds and heavy snowfall. Snow cover is expected to increase by approximately 20 centimeters in some places. There are also warnings for heavy rain.

IMWM forecasters issued second and first degree meteorological warnings on a three-level, increasing scale.

IMWM alerts of the second degree – strong wind

Second degree warnings against strong winds have been issued for the following voivodeships:

  • Pomeranianfor the following counties: Puck, Wejherowo, Lębork, Słupsk, Słupsk;
  • West Pomeranian Voivodeshipfor the following poviats: Sławno, Koszalin, KoszalinKołobrzeg, Gryfice, Kamieński, Świnoujście;
  • Silesianfor the following counties: Żywiec, Bielsko, Bielsko-Biała;
  • Lesser Polandfor the following poviats: Tatra, Nowy Targ, Nowy SączNowy Sącz, Gorlice;
  • Podkarpackiefor the following counties: Bieszczady, Lesko, Sanok, Krosno, Krosno, Jasło.

Strong winds with an average speed of up to 60 kilometers per hour are forecast, with gusts of up to 95 km/h on the coast and up to 80 km/h inland.

Warnings in Pomerania and Western Pomerania will expire at 10 on Friday, and in other regions they will be valid until 12 on Friday.

First degree IMWM alerts – heavy rainfall

Heavy rainfall is possible in parts of the country. Level 1 alerts for this weather threat are in force in the province Warmian-Masurian Voivodeshipin western and north-western counties.

Moderate rainfall is forecast, with periods of heavy rainfall amounting to 25 to 35 liters of water per square meter.

The warnings will be valid until 9 on Friday.

First degree IMWM alerts – heavy snowfall

IMWM also issued alerts for heavy snowfall. Yellow alerts are in force in the voivodeship Lower Silesiain the following counties: Kłodzko, Karkonosze, Jelenia GóraLwówek, Lubań.

Snowfall is forecast in areas above 600 meters above sea level, resulting in an increase in snow cover of approximately 20 centimeters.

The warnings will be in force from 3 or 6 on Friday until 3 or 6 on Saturday.
