Forecasters from the Institute of Meteorology and Water Management announced the weather threat forecast for the next few days.
IMWM threat forecast for Friday
Thursday IMWM does not plan to issue alerts, but severe weather hazards may return on Friday. Heavy snowfall is expected in the south of the country. Alerts ahead of them may be issued in the following voivodeships: Silesian (counties: Cieszyn, Bielsko, Bielsko-BialaŻywiec) i Lesser Poland (counties: Oświęcimski, Wadowicki, Sucha, Myślenice, Nowy Targ, Tatra, Limanowski, Nowy Sącz, Nowy Sącz).
In the same poviats and also in the voivodeship Podkarpackie (counties: Jasło, Krosno, loomSanok, Leski, Bieszczady) first-degree alerts may apply against blizzards and snowstorms.
It may get slippery in the south of the country. Level 1 warnings against icing will probably apply in the following voivodeships: Silesian (counties: Cieszyn, Bielsko, Bielsko-Biała, Żywiec), Lesser Poland (counties: Wadowice, Sucha, Myślenice, Nowy Targ, Tatra, Limanowski, Nowy Sącz, Nowy Sącz), Podkarpackie (counties: Jasło, Krosno, Krosno, Sanok, Lesko, Bieszczady), Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship, Podlasie and Masovian Voivodeship (in the north-eastern part of the voivodeship).

Dangerous weather is also forecast on Saturday. In voivodeships: Świętokrzyskie, Silesian, Lesser Poland and Podkarpackie Yellow icing alerts may apply.
