The Institute of Meteorology and Water Management warns of intense rainfall in parts of the Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship on the night from Sunday to Monday. Level 1 alerts apply. At the beginning of the week, there may be strong winds in parts of the country – forecasts IMWM.

IMWM alerts – heavy rainfall
Warnings against heavy rainfall are in force in the voivodeship Warmian-Masurian Voivodeshipin the following counties: Braniewo, Bartoszyce and Lidzbark.
As stated in the announcement, moderate rainfall is observed and forecast. Since Saturday morning, rainfall amounts have locally exceeded 10-15 liters of water per square meter, while the total forecast rainfall will amount to approximately 30 l/sq m.
The alerts will expire at 8 a.m. on Monday.
IMWM threat forecast for Monday
On the first day of the week, forecasters plan to issue level 1 warnings for strong winds. They may apply to the following voivodeships: Lower Silesia (counties: Zgorzelec, Lubański, Lwówek, Karkonosze, Jelenia GóraKamienna Góra, Wałbrzych, WałbrzychDzierżoniowski, Ząbkowicki, Kłodzko), Silesian (counties: Cieszyn, Bielsko, Bielsko-BialaŻywiec), Lesser Poland (counties: Suski, Nowy Targ, Tatra, Limanowski, Nowy Sącz, Nowy Sączgorlicki) and Podkarpackie (counties: Jasło, Krosno, Krosno, Sanok, Lesko, Bieszczady).

On Tuesday, dangerously strong winds may occur in a smaller area of the country. The lowest level alerts will probably apply in the following voivodeships: Silesian (Cieszyn and Żywiec counties), Lesser Poland (Tatra and Nowy Targ poviats), as well as Podkarpackie (counties: Jasło, Krosno, Sanok, Lesko, Bieszczady).
What is the IMWM first degree meteorological warning?
The first level warning provides for conditions conducive to the occurrence of dangerous meteorological phenomena that may cause material losses and pose a threat to health and life. Conducting business in conditions of exposure to these factors is difficult and dangerous. Expect difficulties resulting from carrying out activities in the hazardous area, including delays caused by traffic disruptions, disruptions to outdoor events or the possibility of their cancellation. Caution is recommended, the need to follow messages and developments in the weather situation.
