IMGW warns of weather threats. In parts of the country, Tuesday will bring tiring heat, and the heat may extend into the following days. In the south, storms will also pose a threat.

Institute of Meteorology and Water Management (IMWM) issued first and second degree warnings on a three-point, ascending scale.

IMWM warnings of the second degree – heat

Second-degree heat warnings are in force in the following provinces:

  • Lublinin the Hrubieszów, Tomaszów and Zamość counties, ZamoscBiłgoraj, Krasnostaw, Chełm, ChełmWłodawa;
  • Subcarpathianin the counties of: Lubaczów, Jarosław, Przemyśl, IndustryPrzeworsk, Leżajsk, Łańcut.

The maximum temperature during the day will be from 30 to 31 degrees Celsius, and thermometers at night will show a minimum of 17-19 degrees Celsius.

The alerts will be valid until 7pm on Tuesday. The warning may be extended.

IMWM first degree warnings – storms

Yellow warnings ahead storms they are valid in the province Lesser Polandin the Tatra and Nowy Targ counties.

There may be storms there, which will be accompanied in places by heavy rainfall with a total of 20 to 35 litres per square metre and wind gusts reaching speeds of up to 60 kilometres per hour.

The warnings will be valid from 12pm to 8pm on Tuesday.

Second degree warning predicts the occurrence of dangerous meteorological phenomena causing large material losses and a threat to health and life. Dangerous phenomena or the effects of their occurrence significantly limit the conduct of business. Expect disruptions in everyday functioning. Great caution is recommended, the need to track messages and the development of the weather situation. Follow all recommendations issued by the rescue services in the event of a threat. Adjust your plans to the weather conditions.
