IMWM issued meteorological warnings. Snowfall is expected in southern Poland on Friday, which will last all day in some places. Up to 25 centimeters of snow may fall locally.

The Institute of Meteorology and Water Management issued first-degree warnings on a three-level, increasing scale.

IMWM warnings – heavy snowfall

First-degree alerts against heavy snowfall are in force in the following voivodeships:

  • Lesser Polandin the following counties: Tatra, Nowy Targ, Sucha;
  • Silesianin the following counties: Å»ywiec, Cieszyn, Bielsko-BiaÅ‚aBielsko;
  • Lower Silesiain the following counties: KÅ‚odzko, WaÅ‚brzych, Kamienna Góra, Jelenia GóraLwówek, LubaÅ„, Karkonosze.

Snowfall is forecast, causing an increase in snow cover in areas above 800 meters above sea level by 15 to 25 centimeters.

Warnings in the Lesser Poland and Lower Silesia voivodeships will be valid until midnight on Saturday, and in the voivodeship Silesian will expire at 22 on Friday.
