IMWM issued meteorological warnings. In much of the country, surfaces will be dangerously slippery at night. Check where to be especially careful.
Forecasters from the Institute of Meteorology and Water Management issued first-degree warnings on a three-level, increasing scale.
IMWM warnings – icing
First degree warnings against icing apply to the following voivodeships:
- Podlasiethe southern half of the voivodeship;
- Masovian Voivodeshipeastern, central and southern counties;
- Lublin Provincenorthern part of the voivodeship;
- Łódźeastern and southern counties.
Wet road surfaces and sidewalks are expected to freeze after rain, sleet or drizzle. The minimum temperature will be around -2 degrees Celsius.
The warnings will be valid until 9 a.m. on Thursday.
IMWM warnings – freezing precipitation
There will be freezing rainfall warnings in the south and southeast of the country. They were issued for the following voivodeships:
- Lublin Provincethe southern half of the voivodeship;
- Masovian Voivodeshipfor the Lipsk district;
- Świętokrzyskie;
- Podkarpackie;
- Lesser Poland;
- Silesian;
- Łódźfor the Radomsko poviat;
- Opole Provincefor the following counties: Strzelce, Kędzierzyn-Koźle, Głubczyce, Krapkowice, Prudnik, Nysa;
- Lower Silesiafor Ząbkowice and Kłodzko counties.
Light freezing drizzle is expected, causing black ice. The warnings will be valid until 10 on Thursday.
