The Institute of Meteorology and Water Management warns about heavy rainfall in the south of the country. It will rain heavily from next night.

Forecasters of the Institute of Meteorology and Water Management (IMWM) issued first degree meteorological warnings.

IMWM warnings – heavy rain with thunderstorms

The warnings apply to the following voivodeships:

  • Opole Provincecounties: Prudnik, Głubczyce, Kędzierzyn-Koźle, Krapkowice, Strzelce;
  • Silesian;
  • Lesser Polandcounties: Sucha, Wadowice, Oświęcim, Chrzanów, Kraków, CracowOlkusz, Miechów, Proszowice;
  • Świętokrzyskiepoviats: Kazimierz, Pińczów, Jędrzejowski, Kielce, KielceKonecki, Włoszczowski;
  • ŁódźRadomsko County.

Moderate and sometimes heavy rainfall is forecast. The amount of precipitation in some places will be up to 30 liters per square meter. They will be accompanied by precipitation storms with wind gusts up to 60 kilometers per hour.

Warnings will be valid from 3 a.m. to 10 a.m. on Monday

What is the IMWM first degree meteorological warning?

The first level warning provides for conditions conducive to the occurrence of dangerous meteorological phenomena that may cause material losses and pose a threat to health and life. Conducting business in conditions of exposure to these factors is difficult and dangerous. Expect difficulties resulting from carrying out activities in the hazardous area, including delays caused by traffic disruptions, disruptions to outdoor events or the possibility of their cancellation. Caution is recommended, the need to follow messages and developments in the weather situation.
