IMWM warns about heavy rainfall and storms. First, second and even third degree warnings apply. Check where it will be dangerous.

Forecasters from the Institute of Meteorology and Water Management (IMWM) issued first, second and third degree meteorological warnings on a three-level, increasing scale.

IMWM warnings of the third degree – storms

Third, highest level warnings for heavy rain from storms issued in voivodeships:

  • Lesser Poland (except poviats: Chrzanów, Olkusz, Miechowski, Proszowice, Dąbrowa);
  • Silesianin the following counties: Żywiec, Cieszyn, Bielsko, Bielsko-Biala.

Moderate and heavy rainfall is forecast, with amounts ranging from 90 to 110 liters of water per square meter. The precipitation will be accompanied by storms with wind gusts reaching up to 65 kilometers per hour. Hail is possible.

The warnings will be valid until 10 p.m. on Tuesday.

Second degree IMWM warnings – heavy rain with thunderstorms

Second degree warnings for heavy rain with thunderstorms apply in the following voivodeships:

  • Lesser Polandin the following counties: Chrzanów, Olkusz, Miechowski, Proszowice, Dąbrowa;
  • Świętokrzyskiein the following counties: Sandomierz, Opatów, Staszów, Busko, Pińczów, Kazimierz;
  • Podkarpackieoutside the following counties: Przemyśl, IndustryJarosław, Lubaczów;
  • Lublin Provincein the following counties: Biłgoraj, Janów, Kraśnik and Opole.

Moderate and sometimes heavy rainfall is forecast. The amount of precipitation in places will range from 60 to 80 l/sq m, locally accumulated rainfall amounts up to 90 l/sq m. The precipitation will be accompanied by storms with wind gusts up to 70 km/h. There may be hail.

The warnings will be valid until 22 on Tuesday.

First degree warnings of heavy rain with thunderstorms have been issued in the following voivodeships:

  • Opole provincein southern counties;
  • Silesianin eastern and southern counties;
  • Lublin Provincein southern counties;
  • Podkarpackiein the following counties: Przemyśl, Przemyśl, Jarosław, Lubaczów;
  • Świętokrzyskieexcept for the south-eastern and north-western counties.

Moderate and sometimes heavy rainfall is forecast. The amount of precipitation in places will range from 40 to 60 l/sq m. The precipitation will be accompanied by storms with wind gusts up to 65 km/h. Hail is possible. The warnings will expire at 20 on Tuesday.

IMWM first degree warnings – storms

First degree warnings are also in force due to storms in the following voivodeships:

  • Podlasiein southern counties;
  • Masovian Voivodeshipin southern and southeastern counties;
  • Lublin, in the northern counties.

During storms, heavy rainfall of up to 20-35 l/sq m is forecast. and wind gusts up to 75 km/h. There will be hail locally.

The warnings will be valid until 22 on Tuesday.
