The Institute of Meteorology and Water Management warns against dense fog in the west and black ice in the south-east of the country. It may be particularly dangerous in Podkarpacie, where level 2 warnings apply.
Forecasters from the Institute of Meteorology and Water Management (IMWM) issued level one and level two warnings on a three-level, ascending scale.
Second degree IMWM warnings – freezing precipitation
Orange alerts for freezing precipitation have been issued for the province Podkarpackiecounties: Bieszczady, Lesko, Sanok, Krosno.
Light freezing drizzle is forecast, causing black ice. The warnings will be valid until 10 a.m. on Saturday.
IMWM first degree warnings – freezing precipitation
First degree alerts due to freezing precipitation are in force in the following voivodeships:

IMWM warnings of the first degree – dense fog
First degree warnings of dense fog were issued in the following voivodeships:
- West Pomeranian Voivodeshipin western and southern counties;
- Lubuskie;
- Greater Polandin counties located in the western half of the region.
Visibility may be below 200 meters in places. The alarms will be valid until 12 on Saturday.
First degree IMWM warnings – snowmelt
IMWM also warns against thaws. The lowest level warnings apply in the voivodeship Lower Silesiain the Karkonosze poviats and Jelenia Góra. An increase in air temperature is forecast, causing a thaw and melting of the snow cover in the peak parts of the Sudetes.
The warnings will be valid until 9 on Sunday.
