IMWM issued meteorological warnings. Thunderstorms are expected in most parts of the country in the afternoon. Level 2 alerts are in effect locally and rainfall of up to 50 liters of water per square meter is expected.

Forecasters from the Institute of Meteorology and Water Management (IMWM) issued first and second degree warnings.

IMWM second degree warnings – storms

Second degree warnings ahead storms are valid in the following voivodeships:

  • Lublin Provincein the following counties: Hrubieszów, Tomaszów, Zamość, ZamośćBiłgoraj, Janów;
  • Podkarpackie;
  • Lesser Polandin the following counties: Dąbrowa, Tarnów, TarnówGorlice, Nowy Sącz, Nowy SączBrzeski, Bochnia, Wieliczka, Limanowski, Myślenice, Sucha, Nowy Targ, Tatra.

Storms are forecast there, accompanied by very heavy rainfall in some places, up to 35 liters of water per square meter, locally up to 50 l/sq m, and wind gusts up to 70 kilometers per hour.

The warnings will come into force on Monday at 12 noon and will expire at 12 noon. 22 on the same day.

IMWM first degree warnings – storms

Lower-level storm warnings have been issued for many areas. They are valid in the following voivodeships:

  • Silesianin the south-eastern part of the voivodeship;
  • Lesser Polandoutside poviats subject to higher level alerts;
  • Świętokrzyskiein southern counties;
  • Lublin Provincein poviats not covered by second-degree warnings;
  • Masovian Voivodeshipoutside southern counties;
  • Podlasie;
  • Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship;
  • Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeship;
  • Pomeranian;
  • West Pomeranian Voivodeship;
  • Lubuskiein the northern part of the region;
  • Greater Polandin northern and central counties;
  • Łódźin the north of the voivodeship.

Thunderstorms with rainfall of up to 20-35 l/sq m are expected. and wind gusts up to 75 kilometers per hour.

In most voivodeships, the alerts will come into force on Monday at noon and will expire at 21-22 on the same day. In the Łódź region, Mazovia, Podlasie and Lublin region they will be in force from 15 on Monday until midnight.

The second level warning predicts the occurrence of dangerous meteorological phenomena causing significant material losses and a threat to health and life. Dangerous phenomena or the effects of their occurrence significantly limit business activity. Expect disruptions to your daily functioning. Great caution is recommended, it is necessary to monitor the weather forecasts and developments. Follow all recommendations issued by emergency services in the event of an emergency. Adjust your plans to weather conditions.

The first level warning provides for conditions conducive to the occurrence of dangerous meteorological phenomena that may cause material losses and pose a threat to health and life.
