IMWM issued meteorological warnings. More storms are expected in parts of the country on Friday, with very heavy rainfall in places. Check where the weather may be dangerous.

Forecasters from the Institute of Meteorology and Water Management (IMWM) issued second and first degree meteorological warnings on a three-level, increasing scale.

IMWM second degree warnings – storms

Second degree warnings ahead storms were issued for the following voivodeships:

  • Lower Silesia;
  • Opole Province;
  • Silesian;
  • Lesser Polandfor the following counties: Olkusz, Chrzanów, Oświęcim, Wadowice, Sucha, Nowy Targ, Tatra;
  • Łódźfor the following counties: Radomsko, Pajęczno, Bełchatów, Łaski, Zduńskowola, Sieradz, Wieruszów;
  • Greater Polandfor the southern part of the voivodeship;
  • Lubuskiefor the following counties: Wschowa, Zielona Góra, green MountainNowy Sól, Żagań, Żary.

Thunderstorms are forecast, accompanied by very heavy rainfall of up to 35, locally 50 liters per square meter and wind gusts of up to 80 kilometers per hour. There will also be hail locally.

The warnings will come into effect at 10 a.m. Friday and expire the same day.

IMWM first degree warnings – storms

Level 1 storm warnings are also in effect in parts of the country. They were issued in the following voivodeships:

  • Lubuskiein poviats not covered by higher level alerts;
  • West Pomeranian Voivodeshipin Wałecki County;
  • Greater Polandexcept for counties covered by orange warnings;
  • Pomeranianin the following counties: Człuchów, Chojnice, Kościerzyna, Starogard, Gdańsk, Malbork, Sztum, Kwidzyn, Tczew;
  • Warmian-Masurian Voivodeshipin the following counties: Iława, Nowe Miasto;
  • Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeship;
  • Łódźin poviats not covered by higher level warnings;
  • Masovian Voivodeshipin the following counties: Żuromin, Sierpc, Płock, Płock, Gostynin, Sochaczew, Przysucha, Szydłowiec;
  • Świętokrzyskie;
  • Podkarpackiein the following counties: Stalowa Wola, Tarnobrzeg, Tarnobrzeg, Kolbuszów, Mielec, Dębica, Ropczyce-Sędziszów;
  • Lesser Polandexcept for counties covered by orange alerts.

Thunderstorms are forecast, accompanied by heavy rainfall of 20 to 35 l/sq m in some places. and wind gusts up to 80 km/h. There may be hail locally.

In Małopolska and Podkarpacie, the warnings will apply from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Friday, and in other regions – from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. 12-23 on the same day.

The first level warning provides for conditions conducive to the occurrence of dangerous meteorological phenomena that may cause material losses and pose a threat to health and life.
