The Institute of Meteorology and Water Management issued meteorological warnings and a threat forecast for the coming days.
IMWM meteorological warnings – heavy rainfall
The lowest level of downpour warnings are in force in the voivodeship Pomeranianin the following counties: Wejherowo, Puck, Gdynia, Sopot, GdańskGdańsk, Kartuzy.
Moderate rainfall is forecast there. The expected amount of rainfall will be from 30 to 40 liters of water per square meter.
The alerts will go into effect on Thursday at 5 a.m. and expire on Friday at 5 p.m. 5.
IMWM threat forecast for Friday
Weather threats may also return on Friday. The lowest level of heavy rainfall warnings may appear in the following voivodeships:
- Lesser Polandin the following counties: Nowy Targ, Tatra, Nowy SÄ…cz, Nowy SÄ…czGorlice;
- Podkarpackiein the following counties: Jasło, Krosno, KrosnoSanok, Lesko, Bieszczady.
What is a first-degree IMWM warning?
The first level warning provides for conditions conducive to the occurrence of dangerous meteorological phenomena that may cause material losses and pose a threat to health and life. Conducting business in conditions of exposure to these factors is difficult and dangerous. Expect difficulties resulting from carrying out activities in the hazardous area, including delays caused by traffic disruptions, disruptions to outdoor events or the possibility of their cancellation. Caution is recommended, the need to follow messages and developments in the weather situation.
