Michał Żuk, as well as his brother Miłosz, began to make a sensation in the Polish media a few years ago. The older of the siblings, i.e. Michał, was hailed as “Polish Messim” at the age of nine, that is in 2018. Since then, many fans have been carefully followed by his development in the hope that one day he would become a star of the Polish national team. A considerable euphoria broke out in 2022, when the Żuk family announced a return to Poland, and both brothers went to the Pogoń Szczecin academy.
Michał Żuk and Poland. This relationship has not been going well so far
This adventure, however, took a short time, for only a year. Żuk played at that time in both U-15 and U-17 teams (this is mainly due to his father's strenuous pressure). Szczecin trainers estimated that in U-17 there was a big problem in the difference in physicality between Michał and boys up to three years older. His potential and technical skills could be seen with the naked eye, but often the physical conditions of his rivals suppressed him, did not allow him to show what he could. Ultimately, the family returned to Spain in 2023, and Michał was again admitted to La Masia.
Barcelona appreciates the beetle more and more. He got a chance at a higher level
A talented assistant is getting there better and better. As reported by the Catalan daily “Sport”, appearing on a daily basis in the Cadete A team (up to 16 years old) Żuk recently got a chance to debut in the Juvenil B team, i.e. a kind of team reserves up to 19 years old. This is quite a great distinction. According to local journalists, the midfielder took this opportunity very well, and his team beat Fundacio Grama 6: 1.
– Cadete A player took advantage of the opportunity that coach Pol Planas gave him and debuted in Juvenil B. , Mullol, Gorka, Ebrima, Goren and Miràngels, Michał Żuk fully uses the chances that Cesc Bosch gives him in Cadete A and has earned the chance to play higher – we read.
“Mini Modrić” not for Poland? The Spaniards are fighting hard for him
“Sport” also praised Żuk for general football development. – This insolent boy with virtuoso skills became a very reliable player in terms of passes and ensuring the continuity of the game. Michał takes less risk than in childhood, but he has more than enough talent to break the diagrams with dribbling or perpendicular passes. His reality is still Cadete A, but he proved that he is ready and for greater challenges at a higher level – Catalan journalists write.
Does all this mean good news for the Polish national team? Unfortunately not necessarily. For many months, Michał Żuk has only responded to the appointments of Spanish youth. In October 2023, he even happened to play against the Polish team up to 15 years old. Of course, the ball is still in the game, but at the moment “Mini Modrici”, as he is called in Catalonia, is much closer to the representation of “La Furia Roja” than to play in white and red colors.
