In Paris, an informal peak regarding Ukraine is to take place, the US is asking Europe for security guarantees

France talks to its allies about organizing the informal peak of European leaders to discuss the issue of Ukraine, “Reuters said, citing sources. Four European diplomats have confirmed that the meeting is to take place on Monday in Paris. Finland's President Alexander Stubb said that the US had asked European countries asking what they could bring in terms of security guarantee for Ukraine.

Reuters, citing a French official, announced that France was talking to its allies about organizing the informal peak of European leaders to discuss the issue of Ukraine.

Four diplomats who spoke provided that anonymity said that discussions are underway about who should be invited to the top. Two of them reported that Great Britain was invited, which is not an EU member. It is not known whether the President of Ukraine WoÅ‚odymyr Zelanski will receive an invitation to participate in talks – informs Reuters.

The Dutch media reported that on Monday the Dick Schoof Prime Minister will go to the French capital. The head of the Polish Ministry of Foreign Affairs RadosÅ‚aw Sikorski wrote on X that Prime Minister Donald Tusk would go to Paris on Monday at Macron's invitation. “We must show our strength and unity,” he added. The entry soon disappeared from the minister's official account.

The US sent a survey to European countries

Also on Saturday, Reuters passed, quoting President of Finland Alexander Stubba, that the US asked European countries asking what they could bring in terms of security guarantee for Ukraine.

Four European sources said that the United States sent a document with questions that include the possible future contribution of European troops, with two of them added that the questionnaire was sent at the beginning of the week. The document is to contain six questions, including one addressed specifically to European Union countries.

The British daily “Financial Times” announced that Washington asked his European allies to provide information on weapons, peace departments and security arrangements that can provide Ukraine.

In an interview with the Reuters agency in the lobby of the Munich Safety Conference, President Alexander Stubb stated that the survey sent to force Europeans to think about, as well as to make a decision whether they would answer the questionnaire and whether this answer will be common.

Earlier, the spokesman for the US Department of State said that Washington “clearly expressed the expectation that European partners would take the initiative in creating a lasting security frame and are waiting for their proposals.”
