Kopacz: IVF is not an expense. It is an investment in the future of Poland

Nearly half a million people signed the project, as the members of the committee announced on Thursday at the conference. The project was sent to the Sejm.

Ewa Kopacz appealed to the rulers: – Do not be afraid of science. Be afraid of those half a million people, be afraid of those three million (i.e. 1.5 million infertile couples – ed.) You will have to look them in the eye at the ballot box.

The former prime minister emphasized that “in vitro is not an expense, it is an investment in the future of Poland”. – We treat the fact that we are submitting this bill today as a special test for the authorities. We say: we check. We say: you can fix your mistake – she added.

– But if you do not correct your mistake, if you undermine science, if you do not want to accept that only this method can help these three million Poles, I wonder if sometimes your aspirations are not different and if you do not want to be a new dictatorship of idiots. With this law we say: I check – she repeated.

Rozenek-Majdan: we are happy and proud

– The day has finally come, we are happy and proud to be able to share the effects after three months of traveling all over Poland – said Małgorzata Rozenek-Majdan.

– We have the pleasure and honor that we managed to collect nearly half a million votes for the civic project restoring the refund of the in vitro procedure – she informed.

Kidawa-Błońska: It would be a sin not to allow couples to use this method

– After several years of work, explaining what in vitro is, bringing Prime Minister Ewa Kopacz to the program, it seemed to us that people understood and accepted in vitro – said Małgorzata Kidawa-Błońska.

Later, she added, “the times came when this method was canceled for most Poles.” – But this work brought results, because the signatures were put by people with different political views, of different ages, from different towns, small and large – she said.

– Everyone fully understood that for a couple who want to have a child, this is the last chance and it would be a sin not to allow them to use this method. The awareness that we can help thousands of couples in Poland meant that people were very willing to sign with a smile, she said.
