In vitro. How do Poles evaluate the government program? Poll Fakty and TVN24

79 percent of respondents positively evaluate the government's decision to launch the in vitro program – according to a survey by Opinia24 for “Fakty” TVN and TVN24. The aim of the program, which was launched at the beginning of June, is equal access to the in vitro method for people struggling with infertility.

When asked “How do you evaluate the government's decision to launch the in vitro program?”, 53 percent respondents answered “definitely good”, and 26 percent “rather good”.

A total of 16 percent respondents assessed the decision to launch the government program negatively, including 8 percent “rather bad”, and another 8 percent “definitely bad.” 5 percent of respondents chose the answer “I don't know/it's hard to say” – according to survey Opinii24 for “Fakty” TVN and TVN24.

The study was conducted using CATI telephone interviews on a representative sample of 1,000 Polish residents aged 18 and over on June 4-5, 2024.

In vitro program

The government's free in vitro program started on June 1. Its main goal is equal access to the in vitro method for people struggling with infertility. “We strive to ensure that all those who want to have children, regardless of their health condition, can be parents,” we read in a statement from the Chancellery of the Prime Minister. The government announces the program In vitro infertility treatment will help 1.5 million couples. It will allocate PLN 2.5 billion for the implementation of the program over 5 years.

In Poland, one and a half million couples struggle with infertility, announced the Minister of Health Izabela Leszczyna during a press conference on May 31. – This is a program for women and men. For all those who want to experience parenthood but are unable to do so without medical support – Leszczyna emphasized.

From July 2013 to the end of 2016, the government in vitro program was in force in Poland, thanks to which over 22,000 children were born in three and a half years. – We were born one city – said Izabela Leszczyna, referring to these data. Kopacz – as Leszczyna pointed out – is also the author of the civic project, thanks to which the current program was launched on June 1.
