Independence Day in Warsaw. The city is handing out white and red bows

On the occasion of Independence Day, the capital city hall has prepared white and red national ribbons for the residents. They can be downloaded from information poles in five places in Warsaw.

“White and red bows are a symbol that has been accompanying Poles during the most important events in the history of our country since the November Uprising. It was worn during subsequent national uprisings and on days when the fate of the independent Republic was decided” – the city recalled in a communiqué.


It also shows that the bows are available from Wednesday on information poles in five locations in the city: at Unii Lubelskiej, Piłsudskiego, Wilson squares, Marszałkowska Street and at the National Stadium. “Everyone who passes by them will be able to take a bow and attach it to their clothes. As the bows are removed, a symbolic white and red graphic will be revealed” – described the town hall. And he noted that, additionally, to ensure safety, each pole has a dispenser with a liquid for hand disinfection.

The president of the capital, Rafał Trzaskowski, also informed about the bows on the pole. “For Independence Day, we have prepared national bows for Warsaw residents of Warsaw and Warsaw! You can download them from specially decorated advertising poles, attach them to your clothes and celebrate the upcoming November 11 together” – wrote Trzaskowski on Twitter.
