Indiana man charged with homicide in 11-month-old woman’s loss of life

An Indiana man concerned within the loss of life of an 11-month woman who was discovered {dead} in a wooded space after babysitting her for a weekend has been charged with homicide, authorities mentioned. 

Justin Miller, 37, had already pleaded not responsible to neglect of a dependant leading to loss of life over the passing of Mercedes Lain in mid-August. The costs had been upgraded after her loss of life was dominated a homicide final week, Fox 59 Indianapolis reported.

Marshall County Prosecutor Nelson Chipman mentioned the kid died from blunt drive accidents to the top.

Lain’s dad and mom, Kenneth Lan and Tiffany Coburn, 32, left the woman with Miller at a Plymouth motel on Aug. 13 to babysit right here for the weekend, prosecutors mentioned. The pair wanted “just a few days break from their little one,” authorities mentioned. 

Miller allegedly instructed investigators he had artificial marijuana a number of instances whereas he was watching Lain. He claimed that he fell asleep on Aug. 14 and located her {dead} when he awoke. 

He allegedly dumped her physique in a wooded space close to the Starke-Marshall County line.

She was found days later when Miller led investigators to her.
