Industry. Bank robbery. The 26-year-old threatened with a knife and demanded money. Witnesses stopped her

A young woman on Tuesday tried to rob a bank in Przemyśl, terrorizing employees with a knife. As you can see in the recording of the incident that went online, the attacker held another woman (probably an employee of the facility) by the hair. Then, unexpectedly, a 91-year-old bank client stepped in, inflicting several blows with an orthopedic crutch.

The incident took place on Tuesday (December 6) in a bank at Mickiewicza Street in Przemyśl. As the junior aspirant Joanna Golisz, press officer of the Municipal Police Headquarters in Przemyśl, tells us, around 4 p.m. a young woman entered the facility and, threatening one of the employees with a knife, demanded money.

A video of the incident in the bank, lasting less than a minute, went online. It shows the attacker holding a young woman, most likely a bank employee, by the hair. Another woman talks to the aggressor.

– Ma’am, what are you doing? he asks.

“I’m robbing a bank,” he hears in reply.

“That’s why,” replies the attacker.

– But you are a decent woman, I can see it (…). Let that girl go,” he says to the attacker, who is holding a young woman by the hair all the time.

After a while, the attacker from behind is approached by an elderly woman and hits her several times with an orthopedic crutch in the back. The attacker loses her orientation for a moment, then manages to overpower her.

– Hold the knife! – you can hear the voice of one of the intervening women on the recording, after which the man in the suit picks it up and hands it over to the woman who comes up to him.

“Call the police,” says one of the women.

“They’re on their way,” replied another.

The man who earlier took the knife from the aggressor asks her to sit on the chair and the recording ends there.

The young woman was arrested and placed in police custody. – None of the bank’s employees and none of the people staying in the facility at the time were injured – Golisz told us.

Charges and arrest for a 26-year-old woman

The investigation into the robbery has been conducted by the District Prosecutor’s Office in Przemyśl since Wednesday (December 7). The attacker turned out to be 26-year-old Zoja P. According to the prosecutor’s office, the woman has dual citizenship: Ukrainian and Russian. She was not registered in Poland.

As the district prosecutor Anna Szczerba told us, the 26-year-old was questioned on Wednesday and charged with robbery with the use of a dangerous tool, which is a knife. – The suspect confessed to the charge and made a statement in which she informed that she had robbed a bank because she needed money to return to Moscow – prosecutor Szczerba tells us.

The woman will be examined by a psychiatrist

The incident was recorded by cameras placed in the bank, which, as the head of the Przemyśl district prosecutor’s office emphasizes, will be the key evidence in this case. – Witnesses are being questioned. The 26-year-old detained by the court will spend the next two months in custody. In the course of the investigation, she will undergo a psychiatric examination. The experts will have the task of assessing whether she was sane at the time of the act and could control her behavior – prosecutor Anna Szczerba tells us.

Robbery is punishable by two to 12 years in prison. If the perpetrator uses a dangerous tool, he may be imprisoned for a period of not less than three years.
