Inflation in December 2022 amounted to 16.6 percent year on year, according to preliminary data from the Central Statistical Office (GUS). Analysts had expected a 17.3 percent increase in prices.

The increase in the prices of goods and services in November last year amounted to 17.5 percent. Every year. The final data for December will be known on January 13.

The market consensus, i.e. the median of analysts’ forecasts, assumed an increase of 17.3 percent.

From the preliminary data from the Central Statistical Office Food and non-alcoholic beverages rose 21.5% in 2018. Every year. Prices of energy carriers went up by 31.2%, and fuel prices to private means of transport increased by 13.5 percent.
