June 30 is the deadline for submitting statements to raise the electricity consumption limit at a frozen price in 2023. The basic limit is 2 MWh, for eligible customers it may increase to 2.6 or 3 MWh.

They can take advantage of the increased limit large families, households with disabled people and farmers. An application with a relevant statement can be sent by post or submitted at the energy seller’s customer service point, as well as electronically: via the ePAUP platform, the seller’s website or the application offered by him. The statement is also available in the mObywatel application.

Higher power consumption limit

Pursuant to the Consumer Protection Act, in 2023 all households, up to the consumption of 2 MWh, use frozen electricity pricesthe same as in 2022. After exceeding this threshold, higher rates apply.

However, the Act defines the so-called eligible customers who may apply for an increase in the limit. For farms where there is a person with a disability, it is possible to apply for raising the threshold to 2.6 MWh, and holders of the Large Family Card and farmers – to 3 MWh.

What to attach to the application?

Farmers should attach a copy of the agricultural tax decision to the application. In turn, large families may be asked to present a Large Family Card, and people with disabilities – to submit a document confirming their status. In the last two cases, it is up to the seller to introduce such a requirement.

Recipients who have separate contracts for the sale and distribution of electricity must submit separate statements – to the seller and the distributor. The electricity price freeze does not apply to households that have a fixed-price fixed-price contract with the seller. In this case, the price guaranteed in the contract applies to the recipient.
