In March 2023, inflation slowed down to 16.2 percent year on year, according to preliminary data from the Central Statistical Office (GUS). Compared to the previous month, prices went up by 1.1 percent. In February, the increase in the prices of goods and services was 18.4 percent on an annualized basis, which was the highest level since December 1996.

The market consensus, i.e. the median of analysts’ forecasts, assumed an increase of 15.9 percent.
