On Sunday, as part of the “Poland is One – Local Investments” campaign, the head of the government met with the inhabitants of the Lubuskie Voivodeship.

In his speech, Morawiecki spoke, among other things, about “the biggest difference in public finance management between us and our predecessors.” – Do you know what it is? Of course VAT. It’s a big difference. We chased the VAT mafias. This is an increase in VAT revenues despite the reduction of rates for several hundred articles, and for food – to zero. It is from VAT that we collect over 100 percent more in eight years, said the Prime Minister.

In his opinion, “this biggest difference is even greater than VAT”. – Well, we have reduced the corporate tax rate – it is called corporate income tax – for small and medium-sized Polish companies from 19 percent to 9 percent. Do you know what happened to the Polish budget? We increased revenue from 33 billion to about 90 billion, he said.

Morawiecki said that “for eight years of the Civic Platform, there were 33 billion at the beginning and about 33 billion at the end”. – Can you imagine how we were robbed here by various cunning people? That’s what those from the Civic Platform did. This is confirmation that we are on the right track, in the right direction, he said. – I knew how to find it and how to seal this tax. – When we talk about our reality, we have to talk about putinflation. All the Member States of the European Union say this is the fault war in Ukraine, the fault of the energy crisis caused by Putin. What are Tusk and his team trying to do? They try to deceive people, say it’s our fault. This is a big problem for us, because we do not bury our heads in the sand, we do not sit with our hands folded, Morawiecki continued.

But I have good news here too. In a moment – I think from April – in these days in which we live now, we will see a strong decline inflationsharp decline in inflation. He also assured that “this will be the case – until the elections and after the elections.” – I deeply believe that this disease will stop bothering Poles – he added.

The president on Friday during his visit to Pajęczno admitted that the actions of politicians contributed to the increase in inflation in Poland. He stated that inflation is “also a result of our actions, which we took here in Poland”.

– I say we made decisions because they were decided by the prime minister, government and parliament. For example, during the coronavirus pandemic, when we simply gave money to entrepreneurs so that they could keep their companies and jobs. So that people do not lose their jobs, the president said. – The money was paid out, which of course must have caused inflation. We knew this was probably going to happen, but we preferred to cause inflation rather than having jobs go away rather than having people not have jobs, he added.

On Saturday, at a meeting with the residents of Janów Lubelski, the president of PiS referred to the topic.

He noted that the rulers fulfilled their promises, but admitted that disasters such as COVID-19, the war in Ukraine and inflation followed. “When it comes to inflation, we didn’t make it,” he admitted. – Well, we conducted a well-thought-out policy aimed at getting out of inflation in a way that would not lead to unemployment, to a crisis, to winding up the mechanism of economic regression – he said.

– We avoided it and let’s hope that inflation will now fall every month and somehow we will get out of it and not lead to a crisis – he said. He argued that it was a good and well-thought-out policy.
