Inflation in Poland in May amounted to 2.5 percent – according to preliminary data from the Central Statistical Office.

Compared to the previous month, prices increased by 0.1 percent. Analysts polled by PAP expected a price increase of 2.8% in May. y/y and by 0.5 percent mdm.

“Inflation in May with only a slight increase. 2.4 percent (in April) to 2.5 percent +0.1 percent m/m. Fuels -0.3 percent m/m, energy -0.2%, food +0.3%. Without details, it is difficult to comment on what happened with further adjustments to VAT on food. However, you can calculate the core inflation – it dropped (4.1% to 3.8%),” write mBank economists.
