Prices of consumer goods and services in September 2023 compared to the same month last year increased by 8.2 percent, with an increase in the prices of services – by 9.7 percent and goods – by 7.6 percent. Heating prices increased by almost one third – in the heat energy category there was an increase of 30.7%.

Comparing prices year to year, we see a total increase of 8.2%.

However, if we take a closer look at the data provided by the Central Statistical Office, we are still dealing with double-digit growth in many categories.

Prices up – what has gone up the most?

The leading price increase is thermal energy, which increased in price by 30.7%. While the entire category to which it belongs (“Use of an apartment or house and energy carriers”) only 9.5 percent.

In second place is electricity, which is 19.5% more expensive in September 2023. than in September 2022.

Rounding out the podium is tea, which is 17.5% more expensive, while non-alcoholic beverages in general have gone up in price by 13.4%. They were closely followed by eggs, which cost 17.4 percent more. more than a year ago.

According to the Central Statistical Office, some products are experiencing a decline.

butter – by 13.6 percent, fuel – by 23.6 percent, diesel oil – by 16.2 percent, liquid gas and other fuels – by 11.2 percent, vegetable fats – by 7.9 percent. , poultry meat – by 7 percent, flour – by 2.5 percent, telecommunications equipment – by 2.4 percent, audiovisual, photographic and IT equipment – by 1.7 percent, gasoline – by 1 percent.
