Storms rolled over Poland on Saturday. Firefighters carried out 2,149 interventions related to removing the effects of storms. A storm front moved over Poland on Saturday. By 9 p.m., firefighters across the country carried out 2,149 interventions related to removing the effects of severe weather. The most events were recorded in the following voivodeships: Silesia (501), Podkarpackie (435), Lublin (273), Lesser Poland (1,680 and Łódź (154).

Firefighters' interventions mainly concerned the removal of flooding and flooding resulting from heavy rainfall, as well as the removal of the effects of strong winds, i.e. wind storms and securing damaged roofs.

Podkarpacie firefighters were dispatched over 400 times to remove the effects of the storms that hit part of the region on Saturday at noon and early afternoon. According to the firefighters' spokesman, Brig. Marcin Betleja, they mainly removed broken branches and trees lying on power lines, sidewalks, roads and properties.

According to Wojciech Czanerle, the officer on duty at the Provincial Crisis Management Center in Rzeszów, most incidents were recorded in the following counties: Rzeszów, Przemyśl, Przeworsk and Brzozów. 59 reports were received regarding damage to roofs and residential and farm buildings. Most of them came from the Rzeszów poviat – 38, mainly in the Dynów commune. – There was a cloudburst and hailstorm in the local towns of Harta and Ulanica. Damage verification is currently underway, so the number of damages may change, Czanerle noted. He also informed that due to the situation in the Dynów commune, the Podkarpackie Voivode has released 30 tarpaulins from the warehouses for protection, as well as provisions and water for the services that are operating on site and will work through the night, Sunday and probably until Monday. Reports of damaged buildings were also received from Jarosław and Przemyśl counties.

Maciej Falandysz, duty officer of the Provincial Headquarters of the State Fire Service in Lublin, informed that so far firefighters have received over 200 interventions related to storms, some of them concerned the removal of broken branches and trees, mainly on roads. – We also went to floods and broken power lines. There were also one or two cases of trees falling on cars. We also have 15 damaged roofs on residential buildings and 34 on farm buildings – said the officer on duty. During a kayaking trip down the Wieprz River in the Zwierzyniec commune, a broken branch hit a kayak in which two people were paddling. A 55-year-old woman who suffered leg injuries was taken to hospital. – – Reports are still coming in. Most of them come from the Chełm, Lublin and Zamość counties, the firefighter said. The president of Chełm, Jakub Banaszek, wrote on social media that most of the damage after the storm concerned trees. The roof of the Michalenka Mill and several houses, as well as a dozen or so cars, also suffered damage. – The streets are now passable, the water has been pumped out – added the president.

Thunderstorms with heavy rain and strong winds hit Podbeskidzie on Saturday morning. Around 10.30 a.m. a residential building in Piotrowice (Lesser Poland Voivodeship) was damaged and the roof collapsed. No one was injured. 20 firefighters, police, construction supervision inspector and representatives of the Przeciszów commune office worked on site. In Cieszyn Silesia, the storm mainly hit Cieszyn and Brenna, where the roof of a farm building was torn off.
