Gas explosion in a tenement house in Inowrocław. According to firefighters, two people were injured. It was necessary to evacuate the inhabitants of the building.

The incident took place on Thursday after 8 p.m. in a tenement house at Staszica Street in Inowrocław.

– We have received a report of an explosion in an apartment building. 26 people were evacuated from the building, while two people were injured – said senior captain Jarosław Skotnicki, press officer of the Municipal Headquarters of the State Fire Service in Inowrocław.

The building was damaged. As the fireman said, the debris removal operation lasted until Friday, early in the morning.

– Our activities consisted in securing the scene and searching the building in order to exclude people who could remain inside. We have removed some of the overhangs caused by the weakening of the structure. It was mainly about the gable wall, which was so damaged that we had to demolish it – reported the press of Inowrocław firefighters.

16 fire brigades, a medical rescue team, the police and a gas ambulance participated in the action. It is not known if and when tenants will be able to return to their apartments. The causes of the incident are determined by the police.
