So far, 25 people have been detained as part of the coordinated, international Common Action Day operation. An Iraqi and four Poles were captured by the Border Guard. They were to answer, among others: for transporting foreigners to a town near Warsaw after crossing the Belarusian border. In cooperation with British officers, a 35-year-old Iraqi was also detained for organizing illegal crossing of the border through the Belarus – Poland – Western European countries canal. The man will be brought before the Polish justice system.
In the Common Action Day operation coordinated by Europol, aimed at detaining people suspected of managing the transfer of illegal migrants to Europe, the services detained 25 people suspected of organizing the transfer of illegal migrants to Europe – it was reported on Thursday Border Guardwhose officers also took part in these activities.
In a coordinated action, activities were carried out in Poland, Great Britain, Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Austria and German. Over 450 officers from various services took part in them. On the Polish side, they were officers of the Nadbużański and Podlasie Border Guard Branches. As part of the operation, in addition to arrests, cars, firearms, electronic equipment and cash were also seized.

“Border guards from the outpost in Terespol (from the NadbużaÅ„ski Border Guard Branch) collected material clearly indicating the functioning of an international organized criminal group. Its members organized other people to cross the Polish-Belarusian state border against the regulations, making it a permanent source of income for themselves,” says Major Zdanowicz .
A citizen was arrested in the case Iraq and four Poles. The investigation is being conducted under the supervision of the National Prosecutor's Office – Lublin Branch of the Department for Organized Crime and Corruption in Lublin.
Over 50 officers of the Polish Border Guard and three officers of the Finnish Border Guard took part in these activities. The following items were secured against future penalties: a Mercedes passenger car and collections of branded watches and glasses with a total value of PLN 204,000. zloty.
Cooperation with the National Criminal Agency
“One of the organizers of illegal migration, operating on the Polish-Belarusian smuggling route, was detained in Birmingham, Great Britain, on the basis of the European Arrest Warrant and the Interpol Red Notice. The activities were carried out by officers of the Podlasie Border Guard Unit from the Border Guard Post in Narewka together with the National Criminal Agency ( NCA) of Great Britain,” says Border Guard Major Katarzyna Zdanowicz from the Podlaskie Branch of the Border Guard.
The major adds that the 35-year-old was involved in organizing the illegal crossing of the border through the Belarus-Poland-Western European countries canal for people from, among others, With Egypt, Syria and Afghanistan.
The Iraqi will appear before the Polish justice system
“A total of over 30 officers participated in the activities, including three from the Polish Border Guard,” notes Major Zdanowicz.
The Iraqi will appear before the Polish justice system and will be held responsible for leading an international criminal group. The investigation is supervised by the District Prosecutor's Office in Białystok. Officers from the Border Guard Post in Narewka detained a total of nine organizers of illegal border crossing in this case.
