In recent years, judges Ali Razini and Mohamad Moghiseh have dealt with important cases related to, among others, security and espionage, said justice spokesman Asghar Jahangir.

Judge sanctioned by the US
State television reported that the cases handled by the killed judges were related to the opposition supported by USA and Israel.
Moghiseh was 68 years old and had worked in Iran's judicial system since the establishment of the Islamic Republic in 1979. In 2019, he was placed under U.S. sanctions for overseeing “multiple unfair trials.” In turn, 71-year-old Razini, who held important positions in the justice system during his career, was also politically active.
