Death of an Iranian scientist

On Thursday, an Iranian website released a video purporting to prove that the convicted man was involved in the murder of Iran’s top nuclear scientist Mohsen Fakhrizadeh.

In the video, Akbari admits to having taken part in the murder of the scientist, but in a voice recording published by BBC Persian on Wednesday, Akbari said he was tortured for months and forced to confess to crimes he did not commit.

Top Iranian scientist Mohsen Fakhrizadeh, assassinated near Tehran in 2020, headed AMAD’s nuclear program, which he believes Israel and the West was a military operation to explore the possibility of developing nuclear weapons. Tehran denies it. Originally, Iran accused Israel of murdering the scientist.
