On Wednesday, the General Staff of the Armed Forces Iran published the second report on the helicopter crash that killed, among others, on May 19 President Ibrahim Raisias well as the head of diplomacy Hossein Amir Abdollahiyan – reported the Iranian news agency IRNA.

As stated in the report, after testing the samples, conducting wreck research and parts of the helicopter at the accident site, it was ruled out that an explosion occurred during the flight and just before hitting the mountain slope.

Documentation regarding the maintenance of the helicopter or work carried out on the machine was also analyzed and nothing was found that could have contributed to the disaster.

Military investigators also ruled out any disruptions in the communication system. Contact on certain frequencies was about to end 69 seconds before the disaster. The option of using a helicopter was also ruled out cyberataku.

The general staff issued the first preliminary report on the disaster on May 24 – five days after the accident. The text then stated that there was no “no signs of gunfire nor any similar traces.

The helicopter crash that killed, among others, Raisi, Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahiyan and two high-ranking military commanders, took place on May 19 in difficult weather conditions. The deaths of all passengers were officially confirmed in the morning of May 20.
