Alex Dancyg, a friend of Poland, spokesman for cooperation between our country and Israel, a historian, who also has Polish citizenship, was abducted by Hamas terrorists from a kibbutz in the south of Israel – said Jarosław Papis-Rozenbaum from the Jewish religious community in Łódź on Sunday evening.
Alex Dancyg is a well-known spokesman for cooperation between Poland and… Israel. For years he was an employee of the Yad Vashem Institute in Jerusalem. He lives in Kibbutz Nir Oz in the south of Israel, where Hamas fighters have been invading for over 24 hours.
Confirmation from friends in Israel
On Sunday evening, the fact of Dancyg’s abduction was confirmed to the Polish Press Agency by a well-known supporter of Polish-Jewish dialogue, Jarosław Papis-Rozenbaum from the Jewish religious community in Łódź. – Unfortunately, I have information about Dancyg’s abduction, confirmed by his friends from Israel, he was abducted by Hamas troops – said Papis-Rozenbaum.
– Born in 1948 in Warsaw, Dancyg is an amazing figure on the map of Polish-Jewish relations, a supporter of cooperation between both nations. He came to Israel in the 1950s. He was always proud of being a citizen of the Republic of Poland, emphasized Papis-Rozenbaum. He added that the situation in the south of Israel is dramatic. – It started with a kibbutz, where there was an art festival, where – according to my information – acts of terror took place. Complete savagery – he said about the Hamas attack. – For now, there is no confirmation of what happened to the festival participants, there were also foreigners there – reported Papis-Rozenbaum.
