Hanije: the blood of my sons is not more precious than the blood of our people

According to The Jerusalem Post, in October 2023, 14 other members of Hanije's family were killed during an airstrike, including his brother and nephew. In February 2024, Palestinian sources reported that the Hamas leader's son was also killed.

Ismail Hanije lives in exile in Qatar.

“The blood of my sons is not more precious than the blood of our people,” said Hanije. In the interview, he emphasized that this murder would not persuade Hamas to change its policy towards Israel.

– Our demands are clear and specific, we will not make any concessions. The enemy is deluding himself if he thinks that attacking my sons at the height of the negotiations and before we send our response will make Hamas change its position, he explained.
