Israel has launched precision attacks on military targets in Iran. Paweł Szopa, the creator and owner of Red is Bad, was detained in the Dominican Republic. In turn, priest Michał O. and two clerks were released from custody. Here are five things to know on Saturday, October 26.
1. Israel carried out a retaliatory attack on Iran
Iranian media, CNN and Reuters report loud explosions that occurred in the capital of Iran, Tehran.
“In response to the attacks on Israel carried out for months by Iran and its allies, the Israel Defense Forces launched precision attacks on military targets in Iran on the night from Friday to Saturday,” announced the spokesman for the Israeli armed forces, Kadm. Daniel Hagari.
2. The creator of the Red is Bad brand detained in the Dominican Republic
Paweł Szopa, the creator and owner of Red is Bad, was located by the Polish police at Dominicans and detained by local law enforcement. Procedures have begun to transfer him to Poland – tvn24.pl reporter Robert Zieliński unofficially confirmed.
Szopa was wanted in connection with an investigation into irregularities at the Government's Strategic Reserves Agency, in which he is a suspect.
3. Father Michał O. and two clerks left the prison
Father Michał O. and two female officials – suspects in the investigation into the Justice Fund scandal – left the detention centers in Warsaw on Friday afternoon. Earlier, bail was transferred to the prosecutor's account, which enabled this release – PLN 350,000 per person.
The National Prosecutor's Office has been conducting proceedings since February regarding the withdrawal of money from the Justice Fund. One of the main topics is a subsidy to the Profeto Foundation, run by Father O.
4. Prosecutor Wrzosek withdrew her resignation
Prosecutor Ewa Wrzosek withdrew her application to leave the prosecutor's service after Friday's meeting with the minister Adam Bodnar.
She will soon be delegated to work at the Ministry of Justice, said Krzysztof Dobies, head of the political cabinet of the Minister of Justice.
5. Czarzasty wants the president to take away the Order of the White Eagle from Macierewicz
Co-chairman of the New Left Włodzimierz Czarzasty submitted an application to the president Andrzej Duda for taking away the Order of the White Eagle from Antoni Macierewicz.
This is the result of the Ministry of National Defense's report on the Smolensk subcommittee presented on Thursday. – All this is bitter – said Czarzasty.
