On Saturday evening we will have the opportunity to see two ships in the sky – an international space station and Crew Dragon. “But space” – wrote Karol Wójcicki, author of the blog “with the head in the stars”.

On Saturday evening we can see two bright shining objects in the sky – an international space station (ISS) and a Crew Dragon Endurance ship in the Crew -10 mission.

“There is a good chance that we will see both ships flying side by side. For it so happens that shortly before the capsule reaches the ISS (19 hours after the start), its flight will be clearly visible from Poland. As a result, both objects should be visible in our sky next to each other” – wrote Karol Wójcicki, the author of the blog “with the head in the stars”.

The Crew-10 mission started on Friday at 19.03 local time from the Space Center Kennedy in Florida (in Poland it was 00.03 on Saturday). The astronauts who spent in the boat are to return to the ground space More time than they expected – Barry “Butch” Wilmore and Sunita “Suni” Williams.

According to the promoter of astronomy, the ISS in the sky will look like a very bright point that will appear low above the western horizon and will fly east to a few minutes. The object's flight will take place between 19.29 and 19.32 at an altitude of about 47 degrees above the southern horizon (from the perspective of central Poland).

“Exactly at 19.32.09 ISS will enter the shadow of the earth and disappear in the field of view in the vicinity of the constellation of cancer,” wrote Karol Wójcicki. “So we have exactly four minutes to see the ISS and Dragon next to each other,” he added.

As the promoter of astronomy reported, looking at both objects we will “see” a total of 11 astronauts. “But space!” – wrote Karol Wójcicki.

Will the weather be conducive to observations?

The night in the majority of the country is to be cheerful and without rainfall. Only in the southeast of Poland is forecasting heavy cloudiness and rainfall – the inhabitants of these regions may not see ISS and Dragon in the sky.
