Failed rematch. Portugal slightly better than Poles
The first half of today's meeting was even. For the first few minutes both teams went head to the head. The hosts gained a greater advantage only after a few minutes, when they took the lead 8: 5. Skórski coach then took a break on demand, but the white and red made mistakes for a moment. Only from the result of 6:11 Poles began to make up for the losses. Portuguese had an advantage from the beginning of the second half. In the 41st minute it was already 22:15. For a good result – at least a draw – it was very difficult from that moment. The Poles fought, but the hosts could not be caught up – in addition, white and red could not take advantage of the good opportunities to score.
And so, unfortunately, this match looked until the very end. The hosts could celebrate. The victory of Portugal was underestimated. The match ended with the result 33:27.
Today's defeat with Portugal is the first defeat of the white and red in the qualifying rounds for the European Championships. Currently, Poles occupy second in their elimination group and have one point of advantage over the third Romania and two points advantage over the fourth Israel. The leader is Portugal with seven points.
