On the Italian island of Capri, a ban on the stinging of tourists was introduced. The mayor of Paolo Falco has signed a regulation that prohibits, among others, approaching visitors from the menu, advertising leaflets and all forms of intrusive promotion of services.
Financial penalties, as well as suspension of the store or catering or service premises for three days are threatening for breaking these provisions.
Capri is experiencing a tourist siege
The island in the Gulf of Neapolitan is experiencing a tourist siege. Thousands of people from around the world come there every day. They are often aggravated by the restaurant menu, handing advertising leaflets to shops, bars and various services provided there.
The introduced prohibition was supported by the Italian Union of Consumer, which in the issued statement emphasized: “Enough with wild intermediation, exerting pressure on consumers and illegal occupation of public space.”

The organization assessed that it was “expected, bold and necessary, which responds to the need to protect residents and tourists against urgent commercial behavior, often conducted when disregarding rules and cheating consumers.”
According to the association's activists, in recent years the phenomenon of dulling has broken out on Capri from control.
