COVID-19 passes in Italy will be mandatory in all workplaces from mid-October. – The government is trying by all means not to introduce the obligation to vaccinate, but it does everything to ensure that as many people as possible get vaccinated – said Sylwia Pruszak, the author of the blog “Italy through my eyes” on TVN24.
Italy has become the first European country to make COVID-19 passes mandatory in all workplaces.
The new regulations will enter into force on October 15. A pass is issued based on vaccination, recovery from coronavirus infection, or a negative test result. Thus, the government radically expanded the use of the so-called Green Pass.
Coronavirus in Italy – new restrictions
Sylwia Pruszak admitted that Italians do not fully agree with the new law and “there will probably be a lot of strikes in connection with this whole situation”.
– It is quite a difficult topic, because we, employees and employers, have less than a month to regulate the situation of employees and employers in some way. This is really a very difficult matter – she assessed.
– You need to find a person who will check these passes, it cannot be any person, but dedicated to check whether everything that has been agreed is implemented. For employees, for employers, it will be a really hard struggle – she said.
– It will be really all those who work anywhere and those who have their companies here. It’s not just a matter of someone working for someone else. Even a self-employed person will need to be vaccinated because they will not be able to practice their profession unless they are vaccinated, tested every 48 hours, or every 72 hours, or are not healed. Therefore, all people connected in any way with the labor market will have to be vaccinated – she said.
According to the expert, “the government is trying by all means not to introduce mandatory vaccination, but it is doing everything to ensure that as many people as possible get vaccinated”.
– The latest restrictions that have entered into force are those that assume that when traveling by trains, planes, ships – you must have vaccinations. It wasn’t enough, however. At this point, the next step is that everyone who works must be vaccinated. The government is simply trying by all means to vaccinate the whole society or force them to control themselves by doing tests, she said.
