The accident occurred on Sunday on a section of the A1 motorway near Arezzo. Around 5 p.m. a bus with tourists from China on board left Rome. The vehicle was driven 61-year-old driver from Poland.
A few minutes later, at the 360th kilometer of the road, between Monte San Savino and Arezzo, the coach stopped for unexplained reasons. he suddenly drove off the road.

The front of the vehicle crashed into the energy barrier, which shattered the window. Glass flew inside, injuring the passengers.
Emergency services were called to the scene, including 14 ambulancesfire brigade and police. Two rescue helicopters also landed in the middle of the highway. One person died – a tourist from China. 24 people were injured, including one in critical condition. Children were also injured. There were 45 tourists on the bus.
– People are trying to get out of the bus with fear in their eyes. It was an almost apocalyptic scene – one of the rescuers involved in the operation told “La Nazione”.
The driver suffered only minor injuries. In accordance with procedures, blood was taken for tests. The police are investigating the case. The services are considering every scenario, including a sleep attack, distraction or health problems.
The investigation is ongoing into a case of causing an accident with a fatal outcome.
