From the beginning of 2022, Italy introduces the requirement to have an insurance policy on the ski slopes. It is to cost from 2.5 euros a day to 46 euros for the entire season.
The Italian media reminds about the obligation to insure against accidents that will come into force on January 1, 2022. The ski season has already started in the first alpine villages.
Italy skiing – changes
According to the changes, from the new year in Italy, all skiers on the slopes will have to have an insurance policy. The penalty for failure to do so will be from 100 to 150 euros. In addition, it is planned to immediately collect the ski pass, i.e. the pass enabling the use of the ski resort. The requirement will not apply to people on cross-country skis.
The representatives of the ski industry explain that it will be possible to buy a policy for the entire stay in the mountains or just for one day when buying an admission ticket to the slopes. Daily insurance is to cost 2.5 euros, and 46 euros for the entire season.
In addition, under the new rules, all underage skiers will be required to wear a helmet.
According to the new rules of conduct on ski slopes, their users can be checked with a breathalyzer and drug test. The penalty for a positive result will be between 250 and 1000 euros.
