Snow fell heavily in northern Italy on Wednesday. Winter weather prevailed in Milan, Turin and Bergamo, among others. Roads were slippery and drivers fell off the road in some places.
In Turin it was raining from the early hours of the morning on Wednesday. In some places on the plains, the snow cover was as high as 10 centimeters. Plows and greensers went out on the streets. Difficult conditions on the Great Danes prevailed throughout Piedmont, of which Turin is the capital.
Milan in winter
On Wednesday morning snowfall also occurred in Milan, but it did not cause traffic problems there. For the following hours that day, the weather forecasters forecasted that it could drop even to about five centimeters. The intensity of rainfall during the day, however, decreased, and the entire cover disappeared with the subsequent rainfall.
Accidents and canceled match
In other parts of Lombardy, however, the situation turned out to be more serious. More snow fell in Pavia and several cars fell off the road due to icy roads. In Bergamo, the Champions League match between Atlanta Bergamo and Villarreal was canceled due to snowfall.
It also rained heavily on Wednesday, inter alia, in the province of Alessandria in Lombardy, as well as in the area of the city of Savona in Liguria.
