A resident of northern Italy accidentally threw two envelopes of money into a garbage container, which were a Christmas gift for his daughter from her grandparents. The valuable envelopes were found and returned by employees of the city’s wastewater treatment plant.
The Corriere della Sera daily reported that in the town of Albosaggia in Sondrio province, a man threw envelopes containing PLN 2,000 into a waste container. euros in cash, a Christmas gift for his 10-year-old daughter from her grandmothers and grandfathers.
Every year they save money for their granddaughter so that she can pay for her studies in the future. That was the case this year as well.
The envelopes with money ended up in the trash can
Instead of putting the envelopes aside to take them to the bank, the father of the 10-year-old accidentally threw them into the trash. When he realized that, he immediately started chasing the garbage truck that had taken the contents of the container. He got as far as the landfill and there he asked for help.
The landfill manager and two employees carefully searched the collected garbage. First they found an envelope with 1,500 euros. They continued their search in the dark and then found 500 euros in the second envelope. They both gave the child to the father.
