Vice-president of the Civic Platform, Izabela Leszczyna, assessed on TVN24 that the government program 500 plus “did not really improve the quality of life”. – Dropping such a 500 and leaving it to fate with such fiscal, monetary and economic policies makes people wake up with a hand in the potty, because it turns out that 500 is about 370 – she said. She added that now “is not the best time to throw more money from the helicopter to everyone”.
Last week, there were reports in the media about the plans of the Law and Justice to raise the 500 plus benefit to 700 plus. However, no such announcement was made at the party’s Saturday convention.
On Monday in “Rozmowa Piasecki”, Deputy Chairperson of the Civic Platform, MP Izabela Leszczyna, was asked if if the PO ruled Poland, she would decide to valorize the 500 plus program. – If the Civic Platform ruled, we would not have galloping, double-digit inflation. The situation would be completely different, she argued.
Hazel: This is not the best time to drop money from a helicopter
In her opinion, the 500 plus “has not really improved the quality of life”. – Because the quality of a child’s life is a good school, good health protection. Nothing like that happened. We have had this benefit for seven years, and I do not know any studies, what really happened, what added value we have – she assessed.
– I am an advocate of linking social benefits with real economic growth, with the average wage in the economic sector. Introducing, throwing such a 500 and leaving it to fate with such fiscal, monetary and economic policies, a terrible collapse in investments, (causes that) people wake up with a hand in the potty, because it turns out that 500 is some 370 – said Hazel.
– Is it the moment when prices really are rising day by day to throw more money from the helicopter for everyone? In my opinion, it is not the best – added the deputy.
